Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 25, 2026

This policy explains how PigeonPod processes personal data for our video-to-podcast service.

Scope and service role

PigeonPod is a multi-user SaaS that converts public channel and playlist sources into podcast feeds, syncs updates, and unlocks selected episodes to cloud storage. In this policy, "we" means PigeonPod, and "you" means the account owner using the service.

Data we collect

We process account data (such as username, email, password hash, account status, plan, and API key), subscription configuration (feed links, filter rules, unlock preferences, and playback-related service settings), and service operation data (sync timestamps, task states, quota usage, and audit logs).

Data from content sources

We ingest metadata from public sources you subscribe to (for example episode title, description, publish time, and duration). We do not require your YouTube or BiliBili account password to provide core feed conversion services.

How we use data

We use data to provide account access, enforce plan limits, synchronize feeds, process and deliver audio, prevent abuse, maintain reliability, and support customer requests. We may use de-identified or aggregated metrics for capacity planning and product improvement.

Legal bases

Where applicable, we process data to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and rely on consent when required by law.

Sharing and subprocessors

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate PigeonPod, such as hosting, S3-compatible object storage, email delivery, payment processing, and privacy-friendly analytics infrastructure.

Cloud storage and shared library model

To improve performance and reduce duplicate processing, PigeonPod uses a shared content library with de-duplication at the platform level. Your account permissions, unlock state, and quota usage are still managed separately at the user level.

Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for service delivery, security, dispute handling, and legal compliance. When retention is no longer required, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized according to our operational schedule.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access control, credential protection, and service monitoring. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we continuously improve controls based on risk and incident learning.

Your rights and controls

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability. You can also update subscription settings, release cloud quota, or close your account through service interfaces.

International data transfers

Our providers may process data in multiple regions. When cross-border transfers apply, we use appropriate legal and contractual safeguards required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

PigeonPod is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If you believe a child submitted personal data to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Policy updates and contact

We may update this policy when products, laws, or infrastructure change. Material updates will be reflected by the "Last updated" date on this page. For privacy requests, please contact us through official support channels listed in the app or project site.
